We keep seeing how Project 4 is a kind of promised land for WFFT’s rescued elephant herd. A retirement place which, even more than the other enclosures at the centre, allows these majestic creatures to have a sort of freedom they have never felt, a more natural pain-free life. Together or separately, enjoying the sun or the shade, grazing in the fields, foraging in the forest or having a cool bath.
Well Alicia and her accomplice Malai Ngun are a perfect example of elephants loving their retirement. Often never far away from each other. Alicia decided to go for deep cooling swim, as Malai just dipped her feet on the side of the bigger pond of the area before grazing on some natural food; but never too far from her friend who, at the moment, could not resist having some solo fun in the lake!
