Thanks to the support of many people all over the world who made it possible to rescue Poom Puang. She arrived yesterday after a 4-hour journey from an elephant camp north of Bangkok. Poom Puang is approximately 45 years old and has spent the last 2 years of her life giving rides to tourists at an elephant camp. Prior to her time at the elephant camp Poom Puang was a logging elephant in the South of Thailand. The scars of her past are clearly visible all over her body, particularly the deep scar on her trunk. We would like to thank all those who made this possible, especially Joan and Co. from Australia.
