On Tuesday a team of staff and volunteers went to rescue Choke Dee, a 50-year-old elephant that has spent the last decades of her life giving rides to tourists every day at an elephant camp. After a long journey she arrived at the WFFT Elephant Hospital, the WFFT staff and volunteers welcomed her. She will spend the next few days receiving a full health check and given time to adjust to her new surroundings. Choke Dee was housed at the same elephant camp as Rung Thip, another elephant rescued by WFFT in April this year. We hope to successfully introduce them to one another. We are trying to raise funds for her care and secure retirement.
