Name meaning: Princess
Arrival date: July 2015
Arrival age: 1
Rescue location: Kanchanaburi
History: Pin was rescued with her mother, Pun. The trekking camp where they worked informed us that they would soon be separated, as 8-month-old Pin was for sale. In the wild, female elephants typically stay with their mother for life, so WFFT sponsor Joan Pearson couldn’t bear the thought of Pun having another baby taken away. Thanks to a very generous donation from Joan and her friends, little Pin will never know the life of a working elephant.
Characteristics: Pin is the youngest elephant at WFFT – you can’t mistake her! She used to be inseparable from her mother, often running under her belly for comfort, but now her confidence has grown. She is friendly, curious and enjoys spending time exploring her surroundings.
Sponsor Pin today: Help us to finance the ongoing care for Pin by making a donation.
